Is this a harsh treatment? |
|
This is not a chemical treatment and, in fact, is a healthy treatment for your hair. |

Will My Frizz Be Gone? |
|
Yes, the treatment seals down the cuticles of the hair making it feel smooth and silky. |

Does Repeated Flat Ironing Damage Hair? |
|
Yes, it is very hard on your hair. After the treatment, you shouldn’t have to flat iron any more. |

How Long Will The Treatment Last? |
|
It will generally last two to four months, depending upon your lifestyle. How often you wash your hair. How often you go swimming. Etc. |

How Long Will The Treatment Take? |
|
It usually takes 1½ to 2½ two hours. We will schedule two hours unless we know you have extremely long hair. Ethnic hair will take 3 to 4 hours. |

I Want My Hair Cut. When Should We Do This? |
|
We generally do the straightening first and then the cut. There are several reasons for this. If you want a style change, you will want it styled with the way it looks after the straightening, not the way it looked before the straightening. If your intent is to get damaged ends cut off, you may not need the cut after the straightening because the ends have been repaired. |

When Can I Color My Hair? |
|
We often schedule clients for a color and the straightening in the same appointment. The straightening will not harm the color. After the straightening, you should wait about a week before coloring your hair. |

Does The Product Contail Formaldehyde? |
|
All of the Brazilian straightening products contain some formaldehyde. Products without formaldehyde are marketed as hair treatments or smoothers, not as straighteners. The product we use is very low in formaldehyde (1.8%), so it is safe to use. Beware of products smuggled in from Brazil as they often contain 6% to 8% formaldehyde. |

Should I Wash My Hair Before Coming For My Straightening? |
|
It does not matter. We will wash your hair with a special shampoo as the first part of the process. So, go to the gym if you want, then come in. |

Do I Have To Wait 3 or 4 Days To Wash My Hair? |
|
No. Unlike all of the other products we have seen, the product we use allows you to wash your hair the same day after your straightening. You don’t have to go around for days with all that product in your hair. |
